Automation Engineering
Automation is central to modern industrial performance. At BSE Australia, we design and deliver automation systems that improve reliability, increase visibility, and reduce operational risk across complex environments.
Our automation services span the full lifecycle – from concept development and control philosophy through to PLC programming, SCADA configuration, system integration, and commissioning. We work with leading control platforms and design systems that are maintainable, scalable, that will align with site standards.
We specialise in:
• PLC system design and programming
• SCADA development and HMI configuration
• I/O scheduling and network architecture design
• Process control strategy development
• Integration of third-party equipment and packaged plant
• Data logging, alarm management, and reporting
• Control system upgrades and legacy migrations
We understand that automation is not just about code, it must align with process requirements, safety obligations, and operational workflows. Our approach focuses on delivering systems that are technically sound, compliant with applicable standards, and practical for operators and maintenance teams to manage long term.
Our Approach
We approach every project with a structured engineering methodology grounded in compliance, clarity, and practical execution.
1. Define & Understand
We begin by clearly establishing user requirements, operational objectives, and regulatory obligations. This may include reviewing existing documentation and site standards and, where required, developing a functional brief and refining project scope, safety requirements, and performance criteria to ensure alignment between design intent and implementation from the outset.
2. Engineer with Intent
Design decisions are documented and traceable. We develop clear functional specifications, I/O schedules, control philosophies, and cause-and-effect matrices to ensure alignment between user requirements and final system implementation.
3. Execute with Discipline
Installation and programming are carried out in accordance with approved documentation, applicable standards, and site requirements. We prioritise coordination, clear communication, and minimal disruption to live operations.
4. Validate & Verify
Testing, commissioning, and validation are structured and documented. Systems are verified against defined requirements to ensure they perform safely, reliably, and as intended prior to handover.
5. Support Long-Term Performance
We remain available for optimisation, maintenance, upgrades, and compliance reviews — building long-term partnerships rather than one-off engagements.
