Hazardous Area Inspections

BSE Australia's Hands-On Approach to Hazardous Area Inspection & Maintenance

The most effective way to determine the status of any equipment—both electrical and non-electrical—within hazardous areas is to carry out inspections in accordance with AS/NZS 60079.17:2017: Explosive Atmospheres – Electrical Installations: Inspection and Maintenance.

At BSE Australia (Ex Division, Sydney), we offer these inspection services through our team of competent and qualified personnel, equipped with handheld terminals to efficiently capture and record data on-site.

Our experienced team can also carry out immediate rectification of non-conformance issues during the inspection process. This integrated, hands-on approach helps ensure a cost-effective and efficient inspection and maintenance program, reducing downtime and enhancing safety outcomes.

While AS/NZS 60079.17:2017 outlines general guidelines on the frequency of inspections, it’s important to note that no two plants are the same. The timing and frequency of inspection cycles should be tailored to each specific site, based on the results of a Risk Assessment. These decisions must be justified, documented, and reviewed regularly to remain compliant and relevant.
